Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland is Hiring a Program Director Near CLEVELAND, OH

Description

Position Summary:

The Program Director is a key leader within Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cleveland, part of America’s oldest and largest network of mentoring organizations. Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. This position is primarily responsible for managing our Program Department and supporting our agency’s growth objectives to bring the mission and impact of mentoring to more kids in Cuyahoga County. Candidate will manage a hybrid team supporting BBBS’s program operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage program department staff in executing key program goals, fostering a results-based culture that uses key metrics to measure success.
  • Ensures that high quality staff is selected, trained, developed and retained. Develops plans for performance improvement as applicable.
  • Ensures attainment of key program goals, such as number of new matches per month, overall children served/active matches, and survey completion.
  • Manages critical service delivery issues that are impacting the ability to provide quality service, such as increase in closure rates or gaps in volunteer enrollment processes. 
  • Motivates and holds staff accountable to work efficiently and effectively and to exceed minimum standards and practices (i.e., meet or exceed all program services as outlined by agency program manual and National Standards).
  • Review program activities and policies with “JEDI lens” to ensure we are actively working to promote JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) principles in agency operations.
  • Supports a child safety-oriented culture for staff and program participants, maintains familiarity with Crisis Communications plan, initial point of escalation for safety-related concerns and improvements. 
  • Supports business development objectives by creating and supporting strong partnerships with organizations and individuals focused on building volunteer capacity, sustained match and revenue growth.
  • Actively participate in nationwide BBBS initiatives, develop programmatic innovations, follow best practices and quality standards. 
  • Help to build our community presence by participating in public speaking engagements as needed in conjunction with agency fundraising and recruitment efforts. Represents agency in community meetings and through collaborations with other service providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Key Details:

  • Reports To: President and CEO
  • Supervises: Program staff and contract/volunteer support as needed
  • Status: Exempt
  • Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000
  • Benefits: Health, dental, AD&D/Life Insurance, 401(k) eligible after 1 year, 12 paid holidays, 18 days PTO, flexible hybrid working environment
  • Travel: Local travel within Cuyahoga County
  • Target Start Date: July 1, 2024

Requirements

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree

• Management experience, 5 years experience in social services/youth development preferred

• Familiarity with service area of Cuyahoga County

• Comfort working in a hybrid office environment and leading a hybrid team

• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and virtual meeting software
