Assistant Manager

Big Blue Swim School in Sterling Heights is looking for an Assistant Manager with a positive attitude, tireless work ethic, and an insatiable appetite for growth to take our new location to the next level. The Assistant Manager is a leadership position that will be responsible for daily operations and oversight of Swim Teachers. The right candidate will have previous years of management experience, is an effective communicator, great problem solver, and will be a mentor to the team. This position will report directly to the General Manager and lead a team of employees.

Responsibilities:

• Coach and instruct teachers in providing safe and effective swim lessons
• Communicate with parents/customers on a regular basis to provide appropriate status updates and a high level of customer service
• Conduct daily monitoring and review of student progress, check box completion, and move ups to ensure appropriate progression
• Ensure teachers are adhering to Big Blue Swim School principles and curriculum
• Enforce all safety procedures and required certifications
• Ensure efficient building operations including cleanliness, water quality, and pump room operations

Required Qualifications:

• Previous management or supervisory experience highly preferred
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to proactively identify opportunities and recommend solutions
• Must possess the ability to communicate and respond to student and customer interactions
• Ability to work in the pool as needed
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to regularly move throughout the facility to continuously interact with customers and staff
