Job Description: $$ Sign on bonus up to $25,000 available $$ Full time 36 weekly hours, night shift About the Unit: Baptist Louisville has two 24 bed all private room Orthopedic units. The Orthopedic program is top-ranked by US News and World Report as a high performing hospital in knee replacements. The Units provide specialized care to post-operative orthopedic and total joint replacement patients. Staff members on this unit work with patients who have had rotator cuff repair, total and reverse shoulder surgery, discectomy, laminectomy, spinal fusion, and orthopedic trauma. New Graduate Nurses welcome. Job Duties: The Orthopedic Nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the patient. The Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. Orthopedic nurses must have strong critical thinking skills. The Orthopedic nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient’s orthopedic journey.
