- Burton Essential Duties and Responsibilities: An Assistant Manager's primary role is ensuring that proper store procedures and policies are followed when store management is not on duty or unavailable on the floor. â—Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency â—Upsell/offer special promo products and products based on rewards program and house margin. â—Scan in and set out product on shelves (keep shelves as full as possible) â—Make sure all sale signs are properly posted on correct product and visible to customers (report to manager any damaged or ripped signs to be replaced) â—Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control â—Maintain store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results â—Greeting customers and assisting with any and all questions they may have â—Maintaining a neat, clean and organized pet area at all times â—Pricing /Labeling various merchandise and help place on floor â—Walking the sales floor regularly, talking to employees and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues â—Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met â—Dealing with sales when required â—Timely follow through with any duties/requests from higher management â—Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures â—Assisting Manager when needed |
EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS â—Prior retail experience â—High school diploma or GED required â—Effective verbal and written communication skills â—Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and attention to detail â—Basic computer skills which include but not limited to; keyboard functions, Microsoft programs, etc. â—Driver's License and reliable transportation |
WORKING CONDITIONS â— Part-time position, working an average of up to 29 hours per week. â—Flexible availability â—Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. â—Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing or moving around the store â—Ability to multi-task, prioritize and order tasks in a fast-paced environment â—Ability to lead and teach your staff and interact effectively with others Starting pay will be $11 an hour until 2 week training and background check have been completed and then the pay will increase to $12.
