Louisiana-based BG Southern Billing was founded by Britney Gemmer, CPB. With many years of experience and a degree in Coding and Billing, she realized most organizations lack processes and need to regain control over their billing. Oftentimes, billers have little knowledge and understanding of the complexities which causes inconsistency and lost revenue. Recognizing the critical need for effective solutions, BG Southern Billing was created.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Research Intake Specialist. As a Research Intake Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the clerical support functions, such as data entry and researching insurance benefits. This position requires strong knowledge and experience in research, and insurance billing, especially with Optometrics.

Responsibilities:

- Research issues with insurance claims and benefits

- Collect and disseminate accurate patient information, and collaborate with other service providers

- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness

- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks

- Assist with data entry and management of insurance and billing information

Experience:

- Strong knowledge of insurance and billing procedures

- Experience with research

- Experience in reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness

Skills:

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Proficiency in Billing software, especially Optometrics
