Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Mobile App Test Engineer to join our team to support one of our largest clients - Hewlett Packard onsite in Vancouver, WA. This is a full-time, long-term, benefited position where the Test Engineer 2 will be responsible for communicating with teams in different locations, developing and executing the test cases on mobile applications, as well as performing special request as per the developers.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Develop and maintain tests, manual and automated, and repository based on App specifications, verbal instruction, email, voice mail.
  • Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files, and other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed; i.e., perform manual static testing.
  • Use risk-driven techniques to develop, maintain, and execute test suites for various Mobile Applications.
  • Work with the Development team and other engineers to capture and reuse Unit Test Cases, Drivers, and other Development test objects.
  • Work with Project Lead to identify the quality implications of known bugs and the impact of proposed changes to product definition on the testing process.
  • Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used.
  • Perform Mobile test task estimation, test execution, Regression testing, Functional System testing.
  • Define and communicate the accurate Mobile test plan/test scripts and provide qualitative and quantitative status/defect reports in a timely fashion.
  • Track & analyze test results and work closely with the developers to isolate and reproduce defects.
  • Troubleshooting live mobile Apps – verifying reported customer issues, identifying their underlying cause and seeing them through to resolution, liaising with development and product management teams where appropriate.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in embedded software program functions, outputs, online screens, and content.
  • Contributes to establishment of standards and procedures for program design and testing.
  • Conducts compatibility tests with other software programs, hardware, multiple operating systems, and network environments

Qualifications

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT is preferred.
  • Experience building and designing test cases of mobile applications on various mobile products.- Android, iOS (Tablets and phones).
  • Expertise in testing of mobile applications in various mobile products - Android, iOS (Tablets and phones).
  • Experience with mobile networks, protocols, and devices; Wi-Fi and 3G/4G testing experience.
  • Understanding the difference in network behavior between 3G/4G and Wi-Fi.
  • Knowledge of mobile native and mobile browser technologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex software / hardware configuration problems.
  • Strong analytical & problem solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage continuously changing business needs; excellent time management skills required.
  • Must have a passion for product quality and eagerness to learn new technologies.

  • A competitive pay range of $19-21/hr (depending on experience).
