Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our pet patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, and providing general care for animals. You will also be expected to assist the Practice Manager in daily oversight and communication with the Vet Assitant team.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in examining and treating animals
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Take and develop X-rays
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Provide animal husbandry care including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals
- Handle dogs and other animals with care and compassion
- Restrain animals during examinations or procedures
- Clean and maintain veterinary equipment and work areas
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology preferred
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT) is a plus
-RVT or LVT licensure a plus
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital is highly desired
- Proficient knowledge of veterinary terminology, procedures, and protocols
- Strong skills in animal handling, restraint, and catheterization
- Experience with X-ray imaging and laboratory testing techniques
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
