Construction Inspector II
Beyond Engineering and Testing (BEYOND) is currently seeking a Construction Inspector II for our project in Plainview, Texas. Construction Inspector II shall have a minimum 5 years of experience in construction engineering & inspection (CEI), design-build IQF (independent quality firm) or Owner Verification inspection and testing (OVTI) on highway and bridge projects. This position requires a candidate with effective time-management, written communication, planning, organization and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate has the ability to take initiative, work independently and coordinate efforts with multi-discipline teams. The candidate must possess excellent attention to detail and have the ability to produce high quality work under short time constraints.

Key Technical Responsibilities
- Under general supervision and directions, perform specific construction inspection tasks in accordance with established quality procedures and evaluate compliance with project plans, specifications, shop drawings and other project related documents.
- Monitor contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications.
- Coordinate, schedule and perform construction materials sampling and testing to ensure the compliance with TxDOT sampling and testing guide schedule minimum frequency requirements.
- Prepare and submit accurate, legible, comprehensive and complete inspection and testing reports on a daily basis in accordance with established quality procedures.
- Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites.
- Perform, supervise, report on frequency compliance and coordinate field tests on materials and completed work using standard methods established by AASHTO, ASTM or other agency with appropriate, properly calibrated testing equipment.
- Perform mathematical calculations using basic algebra (fundamental laws, algebraic expressions), geometry, and the trigonometric functions of right triangles.
- Mentor and train less experience workers on work methods.
Role Requirements
- Graduation from high school or GED certification.
- A person in this position generally, but not necessarily, has a minimum of 10 years of experience in:

- Certification in one or more of the following areas is not required but preferred:
- Shall possess valid Class C Texas driver’s license and meet firm’s auto insurability requirements.
- Must pass drug test, fit-for-duty physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
Physical Demands
- Physical examination required to obtain medical clearance to work may be required
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. and move 100 lbs.
- Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
