BEVILL STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE is Hiring an Assistant Director of Student Services (Jasper/Sumiton) Near Jasper, AL

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Student Services will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the office of Student Services, in the absence of the Director of Student Services. The person serving in this position will assist in facilitating the functions thereof which encompass events including admissions, testing, student records, student financial aid, student recruitment, registration, and student engagement.
Salary Schedule: BSCC - C3 04

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. In the absence of the Director of Student Services, supervise the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Services on Campus. Functional areas of responsibility include student admissions and records, financial aid, recruiting, testing, ADA, and special events.
2. In the absence of the Director of Student Services, serve as the primary point of contact for the campuses.
3. Coordinate the functional roles of the Office of Student Services with the Director of Student Services.
4.Assist in the development and supervision of the annual Campus Student Services budget.
5. In conjunction with the Director of Student Services, supervise the development and maintenance of student records in compliance with FERPA and within standards established by the American Association of Collegiate registrars and Admissions Officers and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
6. Ensure title compliance with federal and state laws and regulations applicable to all student service functions.
7. Serve as the campus International Admission point of contact to assist students with the international admissions process in conjunction with the International Admissions Primary Designated School Official.
8. Be knowledgeable about institutional policies, procedures, and practices relevant to the functions of the Office of Student Services.
9. Provide transfer students with assistance and scholarship information.
10. Coordinate with the Director of Student Services to promote the efficient use of campus resources in maintenance and housekeeping by regular communication of campus needs and issues.
11. Assist with communication to students and staff about programs.
12. Provide oversight associated with the development and coordination of a comprehensive student activities program of educational, recreational, social, and cultural programs which appeal to a diverse audience at the College and supports the student experience.
13. Assist with professional development efforts of the Student Services staff.
14. Maintain affiliation with appropriate state, regional, and national professional organizations.

15. Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, facilitate student activities and programs for students.
16. Assist with the development of measurable objectives and annual planning statement for the Office of Student Services in support of the strategic planning process.17. Serve as a Disability Services Coordinator on the Campus, as needed.18. Assist students as needed, with financial aid process including receiving, assessing, and responding to questions from current and prospective students.19. Work in close coordination with Financial Aid Central processing Center personnel to ensure effective delivery and processing of student financial aid.20. Perform other duties as needed to support and facilitate the operations of the Student Services Division of Bevill State Community College.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in student services or related area in an educational setting, required.
