Bettina is Hiring a General Manager Near Santa Barbara, CA
Hello! As we grow and expand Bettina, and open our second location in Carpinteria, we are seeking a motivated and experienced GeneralManagerresponsible for overseeing the overall operations of both restaurants. This position requires a high level of interaction with both the Front of House management and Back of House. Thismanagerwill work to execute consistent and excellent service while also actively working to hire, train and build a high-performance management and hourly team. Below is a list of general duties the job will include. GeneralDuties:-Help oversee the Bettina wine program by educating staff and encouraging wine sales.-Provide ample training and education to ensure staff menu, wine, cocktail & spirits knowledge. The team must be knowledgeable about and technically proficient with the full menu, cocktail list and wine selections while also having the ability to provide excellent service and hospitality to all guests.-Ensure excellent maintenance, organization and cleanliness of all service areas at all times.-Hold employees accountable to all standards and practices, evaluating and/or following disciplinary procedure when necessary.-Ensure excellent maintenance and cleanliness of all physical spaces at all times.-Organize and complete the administrative set up and break down of service (including but not limited to: creation of floor plans, menus, employee check in, employee cash outs, bank close out etc.)-Cultivate Regulars and continue to find ways to strengthen the Bettina community.-Managingstaffing/scheduling needs for FOH team.-In conjunction with Management, hire and train Service & Support Staff in accordance with Bettina standards (Including but not limited to; interviewing candidates, setting up trails and training schedule, etc.)-Ensure that all employees receive regular and consistent coaching and/or performance reviews.-Ensure that all POS systems, inventory systems, beverage lists and any other information related to the beverage program remain accurate and up to date and are understood by the team..-Adhere to all Bettina procedures as it pertains to personal appearance, attendance, and conduct.-Organizing large parties and reservations via our reservation system, Tock.
-Ensure Department of Health compliance in all spaces at all times.Interest and passion in wine, along with a general base wine knowledge is preferred. Ability to use Indesign for menu updates, a plus! Prior experience using reservation systems, like Tock, also desired.
Our restaurant is very focused on our sourcing, for both food and wine, so candidates should be excited to learn the details about our various vendors and be able to articulate those details to guests and team members. The job requires an innate sense of hospitality and a genuine interest in food and wine. If you like taking care of people, you'll be a great fit. Our main priority is to create a positive working environment, where everyone helps each other to create a memorable experience for our guests.Bettina was opened by Rachel Greenspan and Brendan Smith in October of 2018. The husband-and-wife team moved to Santa Barbara County in 2014 from New York City, where Rachel worked in specialty food sales and Brendan worked as the head baker at Roberta’s pizza in Brooklyn. After catering with their mobile wood-fired pizza oven for several years, the restaurant is the next step in the couple’s mission to build community through hospitality and good food. Located in Santa Barbara in the historic Montecito Country Mart and a half mile from Butterfly Beach, Bettina is a neighborhood restaurant serving naturally leavened wood-fired pizzas and simple, seasonal Italian-inspired fare. In September 2021, the Michelin Guide awarded Bettina a 'Bib Gourmand' designation!If you're ready to be a part of an exciting project with a dynamic, creative team we would love to hear from you.
