NVA is Hiring a Veterinary Extern - General Practice Near Santa Barbara, CA

Description & Requirements

White's Pet Hospital has been in business for 100 years! We have clients that have been with the hospital 40 years. The team loves to laugh and have fun. It can be very intense and fast-paced during peak times, but everyone is always ready to jump in and help out!

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. In addition to practicing their clinical skills, student externs will have the opportunity to practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. We offer externships to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.
