Description

Are you a seasoned IT professional with a passion for leadership and a heart for serving in a faith-based environment? We are seeking a visionary Vice President of Information Technology to drive technological innovation and excellence in alignment with our mission and values. This position is based and will work out of our corporate office in Northern Colorado Springs. 

Duties: The Vice President of Information Technology is responsible for providing management oversight and direction for all technology functions to all of Bethesda operating units based on mission and objectives. The Vice President of Information Technology promotes, oversees, leads, and implements information technology solutions that increase revenue and/or improves the effectiveness of ministry delivery. This position serves as a member of the Leadership Team and is responsible and accountable for all the activities of the IT department.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements annual strategic business technology plan, including budgeting for technical operating expenses, capital requirements, and personnel allocation.
  • Provides activity summary reports to upper management concerning team performance, business plan accomplishments, unplanned activities, special events, and other opportunities.
  • Establishes and refines service level performance objectives.
  • Communicating strategic recommendations with regard to operations, implementation, and security issues to senior leadership
  • Developing standards and processes for the protection of information systems against cyber attacks
  • Evaluates cost effectiveness of network architecture to ensure it supports ministry and business objectives and makes recommendations for change
  • Determines required staffing roles, levels, responsibilities, and skills; selects, develops, motivates and evaluates IT staff.
  • Reviews and approves requests for department purchases, in addition to authorization of organizational technology equipment and service needs.
  • Works with operating divisions and support services groups to create and implement standard operating procedures. 
  • Participates in various technical groups and task forces; may represent department in technology projects.
  • Through contact with customers (internal), ensures that customer satisfaction has the highest priority among IT staff.
  • Directs IT staff and technical consultants’ activities as they participate in customer’s business initiatives.

 

Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job

This position oversees a team of voice, data, cybersecurity, and network engineers and support resources responsible for staffing and performance management of the team. Also supports all operating unit leaders and department leaders regarding technology needs.

 

Other Duties/Responsibilities

Provides technical advice, direction, and support to the team. Proactively employs techniques and practices to ensure the integrity and security of the computing operations of Bethesda and its projects. Keeps current on developments and best practices in the fields of ministry, senior living practices, and technology. Carries out other duties as may be assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications


Knowledge/Education/Experience

Knowledge: Progressive IT systems design and implementation, and software management experience. Comprehensive knowledge of current trends in senior living computing and information systems with an understanding of business process and system development.

Education: Four-year college degree or higher. Business management and technology certificates a plus.

Experience: Fifteen years information technology experience in a for-profit and/or non-profit setting.

  • Considerable ingenuity and judgment to solve complex problems
  • Must maintain a current driver’s license and comply with all requirements of Bethesda’s Auto Policy.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

Professional office environment. Light physical effort with occasional lifting of 10-20 pounds. Keyboarding and desk work for long periods of time. Mobility to physically assess technology activities in various locations. After-hours and weekend work required. Overnight travel via automobile and/or airlines to other locations, often in inclement weather
