The Opportunity

BETA is a self-clearing securities processing solution for wealth management firms. Built on years of expert knowledge and hands-on experience, BETA provides critical back-office controls including corporate action management, middle office exception management, and front office account management and trading tools for advisors.We are currently seeking a hands-on DevOps Lead. The ideal candidate is expected to work on our strategic initiatives within our product engineering teams. As an integral member of Product Engineering, you will collaborate with multiple product development teams, provide guidance and leadership to the DevOps Engineers and recommend DevOps solutions. As a member of the team, you will help design the DevOps framework for our cloud transformation initiative. We need a highly motivated individual who is a self-starter, works well within a team, and can effectively communicate with all areas of BetaNXT. 

What You’ll Do

Using an analytical, engineering-focused approach and expert knowledge to lead and develop solutions for product and strategic initiatives. Core responsibilities will include:

• Improve the frameworks, techniques, and tooling to provide increased quality and agility for our 

development teams

• Build infrastructure as code to provide a highly scalable and configurable set of environments

• Develop pipelines for development, QA, ops, and others as needed

• Collaborate with other members in the BetaNXT organization by sharing our efforts, improving centralized templates, and finding best practices elsewhere in the organization

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with at least 6 years of Software Industry experience

• At least 2 years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role

• At least 3 years of experience in a scripting language (such as Powershell, Bash, or Python)

• Experience with modern application deployment practices with frameworks (such as Angular Typescript/NodeJS/.Net/Java)

• Ability to design, architect, and implement complete CI/CD pipelines on AWS and Onpremise

• Experience in building images in Docker & experienced on modularity of image builds.

• Experience in containerization and orchestrating containers (preferably with Kubernetes, AWS-ECS,AWS-Fargate or equivalent). 

• Experience in dealing production level clusters and monitoring tools

• Experience with writing Infrastructure as Code using frameworks such as Terraform, Cloudformation, or other configuration based tools for AWS

• Effectively communicate with others through documentation, remote working sessions, and face-to-face interactions

• Identify opportunities to reduce time to delivery, rework and total cost of ownership while improving the functional and non-functional requirements of our system

Desired Experience

• Experience in working with a Hybrid Environment (on-premise .net/java AWS)

• Previous experience building highly scalable SaaS or PaaS solutions in an AWS production environment

• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Linux environments

• Has deployed a variety of open-source software systems such as NGINX, Tomcat, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka etc

• Worked in an agile environment and understands agile practices

• Experience in agile based tooling such as Atlassian Stack (Jira, Confluence), Trello, etc.

• AWS Solutions Architect / AWS DevOps Certification is a major plus

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator/ Certified Kubernetes Application Developer is a plus

• Experience working in a heavily regulated industry or environment
