Job Title: Seasonal Hotel Operations Manager
Locations: Kelly’s Island, Venture Resort and/or Put in Bay, Bayshore Resort
Seasonal Duration: March 2024 – November 2024

About Us:
Best Stay Concepts is a locally operated hospitality management group, offering a large selection of single-family vacation rentals and independent hotel and motel properties throughout Vermilion, Huron, Sandusky, Kelley’s Island & Put in Bay.
Venture Resort, located on Kelley’s Island, is the islands only hotel accommodation. The resort offers 30 guest rooms, as well as in inground pool on property.
Bayshore Resort, located on Put in Bay, covers almost 3 acres of waterfront property, while remaining close to the hustle and bustle of PIB. The resort offers 61 guest rooms, an inground pool on property, as well as food and beverage options throughout the property.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
Manage all hotel departments, including front desk, guest service, housekeeping, and maintenance operations.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to seasonal staff, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
Train and develop a seasonal staff of 30 associates (including international students) between two properties.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
Operations manager will directly assist in positions, as needed throughout season.
Guest Services:
Ensure the highest level of customer service is maintained to exceed guest expectations.
Address and resolve guest concerns and issues promptly and effectively.
Operational Excellence:
Oversite of all maintenance, landscaping, pool operations and security initiatives.
Collaborate with department leads to streamline operational processes and enhance efficiency.
Monitor and control operating expenses within budgetary guidelines.
Implement and enforce hotel policies and procedures.
Financial Management:
Manage the seasonal budget in collaboration with the finance department.
Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures when necessary.
Vendor and Inventory Management:
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Manage inventory levels and oversee purchasing to maintain adequate supplies.
Experience & Qualifications:
Previous experience in hotel operations preferred.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
Knowledge of hotel management software and systems.
Ability to relocate or travel to Put in Bay and/or Kelley’s Island for duration of role.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $21.00 - $23.50 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 60 per week
