GENERAL DESCRIPTION

As a Project Manager your role will consist in driving the success of our engineering projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute detailed project plans, overseeing all aspects of project design, implementation, and completion. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including construction managers, subcontractors, and various stakeholders, you will establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy guidelines. Your leadership will be instrumental in assigning responsibilities, mentoring project teams, and coordinating activities to maximize project efficiency and profitability. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining rigorous quality control, complying with industry standards and regulations, and promptly addressing any schedule changes or issues that may impact cost or timeline. Your strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and technical expertise will be crucial in successfully delivering engineering projects that uphold the company’s commitment to excellence.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maximize project efficiency and profitability
  • Determine project specifications and acquire the necessary materials for completion
  • Develop scope and parameters for project design and implementation
  • Identify project responsibilities, delegating phases and elements to the appropriate personnel
  • Develop and control the full project-plan lifecycle
  • Assist construction manager in establishing project objectives, procedures, data collection methods, and performance standards within parameters of corporate policy
  • Prepare scheduled or necessary updates of construction activities and determine personnel and equipment requirements
  • Create and administer testing protocols for monitoring project performance
  • Inform supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes, and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are met
  • Oversee budgetary, scheduling, and project databases, and report regularly to project manager on progress as well as on problems that could significantly affect cost or schedule
  • Manage compliance with standards and specifications for quality control and assurance
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
  • Project Planning: Develop a detailed project plan that includes timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to the project team members.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with various teams, including design, manufacturing, construction, and maintenance teams, to ensure project goals are met.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the project adheres to quality standards and regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, technical specifications, and change orders.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Problem-solving: Identify and resolve technical issues and problems that arise during the project.
  • Follows established department SOP's, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.
  • Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner.
  • Perform other job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education, and/or abilities required for the job:

  • Proficient skills in reading, writing, and speaking in English; bilingual (Mandarin/Spanish) skills a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills & techniques.
  • Basic math skills; proficiency with 10-key calculator.
  • Effective planning & organizing skills; ability to handle multiple task/duties.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills
  • Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proven working experience as a Project Engineer
  • Knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of general office skills and administrative procedures, including, but not limited to: typing (min. 45-50 wpm), filing, copying, faxing, editing, and development of memos, letters, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive, professional, cooperative demeanor, conduct, and working relationship with peers, management, employees, and other individuals that interact with this position.
  • Ability to comply with Company policies, procedures, work rules, and protocols.
  • Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes and new job duties/responsibilities.

SELECTION GUIDELINES

The appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are achievable through the following combination of education, work experience and training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate; and
  • College Degree BS in Engineering or relevant field or applicable training in an accredited college/university; plus
  • Two or more years of work experience in a fast-paced work environment; or
  • Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or certifications from the Project Management Institute or Six Sigma is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

The essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities during the course of work:

  • Communicates orally with management, employees, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, governmental compliance agencies, and the general public by telephone or in person, in one-on-one or group settings.
  • Regularly uses a telephone, computer (e-mail) and fax for communication.
  • Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during the course of work shift.
  • Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, reach, pull, push, and tilt object in the performance of job function.
  • Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
  • Requires agility to operate multiple telephone lines with the use of hands and head-set.
  • Lifting limitations for this position: 25-30 lbs. May have to manipulate heavier containers.
  • Requires incumbent to sit and operate computer for extended periods of time during course of work day, and the ability to proficiently use the computer key-board for typing.
  • Noise level for this work environment is typically low to moderate.Some work areas require hearing protection for an 8-hour work day.
  • Periods of odoriferous environment.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Personal Protective Equipment provided as necessary.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to chemicals, solutions, detergents, or solvents that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Work environment may involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shell Fish, Milk, Egg, Tree nuts, and Sesame.
