Operations Permit Coordinator

Bessemer Management, an industry-leading family of trucking Companies, has an opportunity for a full-time, career-minded professional to fill our on-site Operations Permit Coordinator role.

As part of our Operations Permit team, you will work with our truck drivers to quote pricing and assist in ordering permits for special or oversize truckload transport. There is a high volume of interaction between the Operations Permit Coordinator, drivers, and terminals, to ensure that legal specifications, proper transportation routes and any special instructions are followed.

Responsibilities of the Position

• Ordering permits for special or oversize truckloads
• Assist drivers with route planning and planning possible route variations that may occur
• Work with trucking terminals to resolve billing issues
• Learn and research state laws for permits and over-dimension truckloads
• Continuously communicating with truck drivers, responding to issues in a timely manner, and providing information about permits and routes
• Effectively communicate with state government offices
• Mapping truck routes for drivers (route planning) to ensure safe, effective travel

Qualifications & Interpersonal Skills

• U.S. geographical knowledge a plus but not required
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interact with a variety of people, including truck drivers, terminals/agents, vendors/customers, co-workers, and internal departments
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to recognize and appropriately respond to tone in phone and email correspondence
• Works well in a team environment
• Customer service-oriented, with a positive and friendly demeanor; willingness to assist other departments when needed

Benefits:

• Hours: Rotating Shifts, 7:30AM to 4:30PM and every half hour thereafter, with a 1-hour lunch (latest shift is 9:00AM to 5:30PM with that shift covering calls after hours), based in our Corporate Office in Valley View, Ohio

Physical Demands of the Position:

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; and reach with hands and arms to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.
