Job Title: Med/Surg Charge NurseJob Summary:The Med/Surg Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the medical-surgical unit, providing leadership and guidance to the nursing staff, and ensuring high-quality patient care. The Charge Nurse collaborates with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care, assess patient needs, and implement appropriate nursing interventions.Responsibilities and Duties:1. Supervise and direct nursing staff in the delivery of patient care2. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans3. Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to the care plan4. Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care5. Provide education and support to patients and their families6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives9. Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staffQualifications and Skills:1. Current RN license in the state of practice2. BSN preferred3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting4. Previous charge nurse or leadership experience preferred5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills6. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment7. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards8. BLS and ACLS certification9.
