Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Supervise employees and oversee all operations in the maintenance department. Position has the authority to release or remove from service equipment for use in all processes.
• Follow and support all Company Safety, GMP, HACCP policies
• Follow and support all Company ISO and QMS policies. Authorized approver of Department Controlled Documents.
• Maintains the highest quality of services rendered and Gung Ho Spirit
• Assists with employee performance reviews and corrective actions
• Maintains good housekeeping in the shop and on the plant floor
• Trains new employees and performs weekly evaluations
• Provides technical direction for day-to-day activities while prioritizing downtime events.
• Works with production and maintenance to improve systems and equipment
• Responsible for assisting with PSSR/MOC/RA (pre-service startup routine/method of change/risk assessment) and all portions of 5S in the maintenance department.
• Responsible for auditing LOTO of employees and training.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all plant utilities systems
• Snow removal planning as deemed necessary by Maintenance Manager. Must be trained and competent in operating Company Truck

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Education: Degree in engineering - electrical/mechanical preferred or Associates degree in electrical/mechanical.

Experience: In addition to the educational requirements. Incumbents must have 5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance field, and a minimum of 2 years of experience as Manager.

• Preference for journeyman’s electrical license.
• Preference for HVAC certifications.

 Minimum education and years of experience should not be used exclusive of other leveling factors described below.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Ability to make practical decisions without appreciable direction or advance preparation.
• Ability to perform payroll/vacation functions for Department.
