Berry Global, Mountain Top, PA is looking for several dynamic Industrial Maintenance Mechanical Technicians to staff our 7:00PM to 7:00AM shift, to perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery. Team members will set up, adjust and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality on this equipment. Starts up and shuts down equipment in line with company safety procedures for equipment under power and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment, plans for, and takes corrective action as directed. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.

• Tests equipment to check operation and cleans jams. Runs equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime. Make preventive maintenance checks and inspections.

• Notifies the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic of reoccurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action recommended, and of quality, problems or supplies needed. Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assigned.

• Troubleshoot and maintain a variety of mechanical/electrical equipment including air compressors, repair rollers, chains, bearings, install seals, sprockets, chillers, gearboxes, pumps, fans, valves, motors, extruders, dies, grinders, winders, bag machines and various other support equipment of this plant.

• Uses full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before start of a job.

Qualifications

• 3 Years of Industrial Maintenance experience necessary.

• Previous knowledge of machinery used in polyethylene film manufacturing, a plus.

• Background in any of the following: mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints to plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools.

• Knowledge on mechanical and electrical principles and machining practices. Knowledge on concerning modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine-shop practices and techniques, preferred.

• Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of a manufacturing equipment or tooling problems, understand the inter-relationships of factors affecting a given situation, and to be attentive to detail.

• Proficient at using electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.

• Positions are for either 7A-7P/7P-7A shift rotation schedule for 2-2-3-2.
