ABOUT ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST:“Typical day” “What you’re getting into”

Accounting Specialists maintain adequate accounting and control for various accounting reports and functions, such as preparing monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and adjustments. By partnering with other Bernick’s Team Members, Accounting Specialists exhibit a high degree of confidentiality and possess the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization. Accounting Specialists assist with month/year end financial reporting by posting entries and reviewing the general ledger for accuracy and completeness. They also assist the Accounting Team with financial and tax audits, as well as,various accounting projects.Strong candidates have knowledge in/are able to:

• Depreciation and Amortization (adding, tracking, writing-off, budgeting)
• Cash Reconciliation: Weekly and monthly tie-out of bank statements to general ledger
• Monthly sales tax reporting and other state required filings
• Monthly tie-out of GL Accounts
• Possess analytical, communication, and innovative thinking skills
• Accounting principles, auditing, budgeting, bookkeeping, and fiscal record keeping
• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards

YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT MATCH IF YOU HAVE:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
• 2 years of experience inAccounting and/or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft's suite of products, as well as, Accounting software programs
• A valid Driver’s License and driving record that meets Bernick’s standard

HOURS: Full-time (40-45 hours per week)

• Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM
• No weekends or holidays required
