If so, we are seeking a Logistics Coordinator who will be responsible for daily domestic shipment functions, carrier relations, cost savings initiatives, and inventory management support.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage day-to-day shipment scheduling and tracking with carriers in order to maintain 99% on-time delivery.
  • Serve as the escalation point for resolution of issues for service delay, non-compliance, and freight claims to determine proper disposition.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the domestic and international logistics strategies to ensure cost effective and on-time flow of Berlin items.
  • Ensure carrier compliance regarding insurance, Berlin requirements, invoicing, and operations.
  • Develop strong relationships with carriers and third-party logistics service providers to ensure capacity and high service levels.
  • Work closely with the field to communicate shipment/delivery times, issues, and claims management.
  • Ensure the business progresses to meet and exceed established performance standards.
  • Responsible for the preparation and execution of domestic lane bids.
  • Negotiate rates and terms and conditions to maintain and/or improve service levels and drive down COGS.
  • Work to resolve carrier invoice disputes in an efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with various locations to deliver transportation productivity while managing total cost.
  • Remain current on logistics trends and developments, carrier practices, legislative changes, fuel prices, and other similar market fluctuations.
  • Establish and document best business practices and compliance programs.
  • Fulfills employee portion of the Berlin Values by demonstrating a strong work ethic, teamwork, loyalty, innovation, productivity, and driving profitable results.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years’ experience with 3PL or domestic transportation.
  • TMS and Freight Audit & Payment experience a plus.
  • Experience with logistics terminology, analysis, and management.
  • Structured negotiation experience including contract negotiation.
  • Ability to complete tasks and solve problems with limited guidance and direction.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to learn.
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills.
  • Strong business acumen; demonstrates a solid understanding of Berlin Packaging’s business, products, customers, and suppliers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including written, verbal, and active listening.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong time management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow up.
  • Operates with a sense of urgency.
  • Is flexible and open to change and new ways of working.
  • High energy, positive attitude, and contributes to a positive team culture.
  • Self-motivated; consistently strives to attain goals and seeks self-improvement.
  • Technologically savvy.
