Job purpose

The Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software applications. They will work closely with development and DevOps teams to build and maintain our infrastructure, automate deployment processes, and monitor system performance. Become the Bridge between Development and Operations. Be a part of the journey of building the SRE Team and influence how SRE should operate across Beqom Organizations. 

Duties and responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain beqom's production infrastructure - Implement and maintain automated deployment processes 
• Develop and provide operational support for full-stack software applications.
• Collaborate with development/DevOps operations staff to create, monitor, and troubleshoot the system infrastructure. Ensure that software applications are reliable, scalable.
• Improve automation and increase the system’s self-healing capability.
• Collect operating system data and report performance metrics to stakeholders.
• Manage cloud and database system maintenance, debugging production issues as they arise.
• Monitor system performance and identify and resolve issues proactively 

Must have

Technical skills 

• Strong fundamentals in networking, internet protocols, storage, elastic computing, operating systems and security

• Proven knowledge of Virtualization, Automation and Cloud Computing at scale (Microsoft Azure Cloud IaaS and PaaS Services)

• Solid knowledge of Linux, Windows, SQL Server , IIS, Nginx, REDIS, K8S

• Strong Linux/Windows scripting using Shell, Powershell, Python, Curl as well as SQL
• Infrastructure as code: use Terraform and GitLab CI/CD for automation, containerise our environments (Kubernetes), and leverage cloud technologies to meet our goals
• 3 years of experience in a similar role

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to individuals of various technical abilities

• strong problem-solving skills can help identify and address issues quickly and efficiently.
• Organized and methodical 
• team player and working collaboratively can help ensure everyone is aligned and moving towards the same goals

Nice to have

• Comfortable using core DevOps tools such as GIT, ADO, Docker, Packer, Postman, Amazon AWS, Jira
