Pension Clerical - Assistant I (Las Vegas, NV)
Summary: Must have general math skills, office skills, and experience on phones, and display excellent customer service. Must be extremely organized and have a positive attitude; must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; must have basic knowledge of the functions in Legacy and BenefitDriven. Must know and follow department procedures and; must meet minimum service standards as set by the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to
  • Receive and distribute department mail.
  • Screen phone calls.
  • Mail requested forms.
  • Manage databases and records for various pension plans.
  • File daily correspondence, create new application folders.
  • Add new records to the system.
  • Review pension application forms and verify information submitted; mail incomplete applications back, highlighting necessary information for completion.
  • Mail application acknowledgment letters.
  • Request verification of past employment from previous employers.
  • Enter Pension DB/DC application status updates in BeneDriven in comment section to keep progress updated in system.
  • Enter Pension DB/DC application data into Pension Transaction Log, making particular comments on the status of application.
  • Process Direct Deposit requests.
  • Update member information; address, beneficiary and financial changes.
  • Regularly/yearly cleans out closed files; pack and inventory for storage.
  • Follow up on pending deceased files.
  • Scan documents into database for electronic storage.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
Level I
Must have general math skills, office skills, and experience on phones, and display excellent customer service. Must be extremely organized and have a positive attitude. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have basic knowledge of the functions in Legacy and BenefitDriven. Must know and follow department procedures. Receive and distribute mail, maintain scanning and filing of documents. Assist Pension Coordinators, Supervisor, and Manager with daily processes and special projects. Must meet minimum service standards as set by the Company.
Level II
Must be proficient with Level I skills. Have a basic understanding of West Coast Plans. Assist with special projects.
Education and/or Experience – High School diploma or GED and at least one years’ experience with multiple line switchboard is necessary.
Language Skills – Must speak clearly and professionally. Ability to understand directions and follow them through to the end of task.
Mathematical Skills – General math skills needed.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – None Required
Work Environment - Fast paced department. Phone calls are continuous and occasionally unpleasant. Must be able to maintain composure with difficult callers.
Work Schedule
Full time. Monday – Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm. Required in office (no at-home days).

Pay

The current starting pay rate for this position is $29.68 per hour. This is a union position. The pay rate for this position is determined by the collective bargaining agreement and may be dependent on skills, education, experience and other business factors.
