Starting pay for the Industrial Painter position is based on education, experience and skill level. Summary:

The industrial painter will be responsible for the application of a wide range of industrial liquid coatings which may include manufactured products in accordance with the specification of the OEM (Originator Equipment Manufacturer) and customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-painting activities on parts in preparation for painting.
  • Surface preparation, application and inspection of industrial coatings to fabricated metal products.
  • Determine the required flow of paint and the quality of the coating.
  • Utilize instrumentation to measure painting parameters to ensure compliance with OEM specifications.
  • Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment.
  • Appropriately rig large objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying the industrial coatings.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in operating overhead cranes which includes the rigging of steel members for movement around the facility preferred.
  • High school diploma or Industrial Paint Certification preferred.
  • 2 years' experience in and industrial paint setting.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation to ensure proper coating adhesion and a basic understanding of paint equipment and paint-booth operation.
  • Familiar with the various types of metal abrasive treatments such as media blasting, chemical etching, degreasers, etc.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and physical.
  • Forklift experience is preferred.
  • AMPP - Coatings Applicator (CCA) certification

All new hires must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
