We are seeking a skilled Manager of Patient Accounts to join our Business Operations team. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the output and quality of all back-end business functions and collaborating with the Director of Revenue Cycle to identify strategies for performance improvement. We will rely on you to:
· Manage and monitor the performance of all Business Office staff members and vendors in the completion of essential functions including billing, collections, and cash posting
· Launch new reimbursement and collection initiatives with staff/vendors
· Ensure timely billing by in-house and vendor personnel; investigating billing inefficiencies as needed to improve AR resolution
· Screen job candidates, lead new hire orientation and training, and conduct performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and terminations
· Analyze data and prepare reports on collection performance, governmental and commercial payer reimbursement, payment arrangements, etc. as required
· Stay informed on current payer contracts, regulation changes and other sources of impact and immediately inform staff of any shifts through memos, meetings or personal interactions
· Meet or exceed cash collection and A/R goals, including but not limited to A/R over 90 days, net A/R for all payers and monthly and yearly cash goals
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration/Management or a minimum of 6 years of progressive management experience in hospital and provider billing in lieu of degree
· Certification as Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) within one year or at time of placement in position
· At least 5 years’ experience in a healthcare or insurance environment
· At least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory/management position over hospital and physician billing and accounts receivable management
· Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills
· Proven leadership abilities and analytical, organizational and time management skills
· Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
