Position Overview:

The general role of a Senior Facilities Technician IOGS is to provide labor to a wide range of facilities construction, mechanical and industrial projects. This is a semi-skilled position that requires a mechanical knowledge and aptitude, along with a basic knowledge of construction trades. Projects may include, but not be limited to the following industries and facilities: Oil and Gas, Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Wind Energy, Solar, etc. This is a leadership position that involves mentoring and training of lesser experienced personnel.

This individual should have a strong understanding of industrial construction and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation. This position will require a flexible schedule with extensive travel and out-of-town work and the willingness to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings, and possible night shift.

The Senior Facilities Technician will report to the Group Manager IOGS and will work primarily out of the Beitzel Corporate location.

What You'll Do:
  • Conduct training and perform work for various facilities construction, industrial, and mechanical projects
  • Assist Foremen with paperwork and job progression as required
  • Lead smaller jobs and crews as required
  • Perform concrete work, rebar, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching, and general labor as required
  • Perform a variety of industrial landscaping such as installing silt fences, mowing right of ways, etc.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Perform basic welds
  • Operate basic machinery such as a man-lift, scissor lift, fork-lift, etc.
  • Align machines and equipment
  • Assemble basic structures such as sheds, garages, etc.
  • Set up rigging to hoist equipment
  • Select cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved
  • Attach loads with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hook
  • Use hand signals to direct workers who are engaged in hoisting machinery and equipment
  • Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements
  • Assist with the duties of the Operations Techs and work rotations as needed
  • Provide leadership both on the job and for coworkers

What You'll Bring:
  • 2 years of experience with facilities construction preferred
  • Aptitude for or previous leadership experience preferred
  • Possesses a mechanical aptitude with prior experience in commercial/industrial mechanical fields preferred
  • Welding experience preferred (Stick preferred)
  • Valid drivers license preferred
  • Proficient with using basic hand tools
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to follow work direction
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable with working at heights preferred
  • Willingness to participate in the Apprenticeship Program Preferred
