Behavior Rx is searching for Instructional Assistants/Paraprofessionals to work with children in self-contained ASD classes in the Phoenix and surrounding areas with special needs. As an Instructional Assistant/Paraprofessional you will be working with students who have a need for emotional support, behavioral redirection and help with academic support. REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Arizona fingerprint clearance card
CPR Certified
6 months of experience working with children
Patient personality
Required to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.
Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Work with Teacher to promote positive student behavior by providing positive behavior support.
Supervise students to ensure a non-threatening, safe, nurturing environment where students can thrive.
Prepares classrooms for activities including setting up tables and chairs and handing out materials.
Works with special education students individually or in-groups on special projects or assignments such as academic, social, emotional, functional, language, and behavior skills and activities of daily living.
Demonstrates skills and techniques in order to aid in student learning.
Monitors student behavior and enforces school and classroom standards and policies.
