As a Crisis Support Staff Specialist, you will assist participants in the crisis respite to learn and apply skills to manage their mental health to stabilize and return to the pre-crisis level of functioning with connections to community resources and supports.

What your day might look like:

• Assist in developing clear treatment strategies based on the specific needs of each consumer and compose a formal treatment plan and percentage plan for the treatment team and consumer;
• Provides services including treatment and education in accordance with the treatment plan such as de-escalation, use of coping skills, and self-care skills.
• Coordinate treatment with other behavioral health services, other providers, probation, and parole, including facilitating referrals for inpatient treatment to maximize the quality and effectiveness of care.
• Promotes service recipients' growth and development.
• Assist participants in moving into and out of the respite.

Your skills and qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team until collaborate across disciplines and programs.
• Knowledge of substance abuse issues including features of alcohol and various drug abuse signs and symptoms, intervention strategies, and awareness of associated medical concerns.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local and regional travel.
