Position Summary

As a Store Associate, you must be able to assist with the daily operations of the store and provide exceptional sales and customer service in a timely and professional manner.

You will also be responsible for maintaining Beef Jerky Experience standards according to policy and procedures established in the operations manual and as defined by the Owner of the store.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :

• Ensures all opening and closing duties are completed as assigned.
• Ensures all customers are assisted in a courteous, enthusiastic, helpful and timely manner.
• Develops and maintains excellent product knowledge.
• Set up and restock merchandise according to established guidelines provided by the Owner.
• Ensures accuracy of inventory counts on an on-going basis (minimum each quarter).
• Maintains accurate and updated knowledge of the Point of Sale system and accurately perform all functions, including customer loyalty program.
• Encourages and assists in the development of all sales associates (Be a team player).
• Always complies with Tanger rules and regulations.
• Potentially assists with the staffing of off-site festivals / events.
• Upholds maintenance standards including sales area, back room and bathroom.
• Follows safety and security guidelines provided by the Owner.
• Completes all assigned duties in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Prior retail experience required
• High school diploma is required.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, especially the ability to persuasively describe Beef Jerky Outlet products to customers.
• Reliability including being on-time for duties assigned; keeping commitments; following instructions and responding to management direction
• Flexibility available to work additional hours as required
• Strong interpersonal skills focusing on solving conflicts; listening to others without interrupting; keeping emotions under control;

and remaining open to new ideas

• Maintains a professional appearance and manner.
• Ethical Treats people with respect; inspires the trust of others; works with integrity; upholds organizational values
• Motivated to set and achieve challenging goals and demonstrates persistence to achieve goals.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Fill in any extra space with some of the best popcorns, cheeses, peanut butters (the list goes on and on) and even throw in some bug suckers .

just for fun. The simple idea is every day and in all ways create an atmosphere that jerky lovers and their families can come into and relax.

If you see some of our guest’s kind of dancing around the store while sampling some truly great jerky, you’ll get what we mean.

Now it might seem like the idea was obvious. After all, people love great beef jerky, right? Why wouldn’t there be a store featuring it?

Well you should have seen the looks on some of our relative’s faces when they heard what we were up to. You should have seen the look on the faces of our BANKERS when we pitched the idea to them.

Horror films have less tormented looking faces than what we were looking at across the desk. So, we gave them a little jerky and the rest, as they say, is history.

So, the long and the short of it is, we took a simple idea and added some fun. We opened the doors and hoped you would come in.

And boy have you come. Every day we are motivated to keep it going and keep making it better. It’s all for you, the jerky lover who for too long was neglected and force-fed inferior mass market jerky.
