This is an amazing opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to help solve the world's most critical energy problems to help enable a smarter distributed energy world. The company was founded in 2012, and has recently secured an amazing $80M in Series D funding. The companies AI driven software platform allows utilities, electricity retailers, renewable energy project developers and energy service providers to deliver clean, affordable and reliable energy by managing networked distributed energy resources (DERs) in real time and at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the algorithms for the forecasting platform
- Work with other data/software/SRE engineers to troubleshoot production problems and respond to customer queries.
- Mentor junior data scientists and software engineers
- Work effectively with the engineering teams distributed globally to understand project requirements, identify opportunities for collaboration, and articulate project delivery risks in advance
- Deploy well-performing forecasting models into a production environment
- Build advanced time series forecasting models at scale.
Qualifications and Experience:
- B.S., MS., or Ph.D. in computer science, mathematics or related field
- 4 years experience in a data scientist role
- Exceptional understanding in various ML techniques for time series forecasting, e.g. ARIMA, regression-based, and deep-learning models. Hands-on experience in building forecasting models is required.
- 5 years Time-Series forecasting experience
- Good programming skills and the ability to navigate a distributed infrastructure
- Experience working with production codebase is a plus
- Experience in Python data science stack, e.g. numpy, scipy, pandas, and scikit-learn
- Energy Markets / Utility experience is preferred
