Bear s Restaurant Group is Hiring a KITCHEN STAFF Near Windsor, CT

Position Summary:

A Team Member is responsible for providing a great guest experience by preparing heating, preparing, and serving the side options quickly and according to Company specifications in a fast-paced quick service restaurant environment. In addition, a Team Member will be responsible for providing cashier and to-go station assistance to guests in an accurate and timely manner.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Practice safe food handling and cleanliness at all times.
  • Follow proper company preparation standards to portion and prepare menu items based on guest choice.
  • Set up the line for beginning of shift and ensures back-ups are stocked for the next shift.
  • Heat sides according to pars and management instruction.
  • Have strong menu knowledge and be able to explain menu items and terms and provides suggestions to guests when asked.
  • Directly communicate and interact with Guests in a friendly manner, at respective volume & handle crowds and put Guests at ease.
  • Communicate with other team members to ensure order accuracy and guest satisfaction.
  • Accurately input orders into POS, handle money, make change, and process credit card transactions.
  • Use proper phone etiquette according to Company standards; answer questions, take to-go & small catering. orders, properly place someone on hold, direct calls or take detailed messages when necessary. 
  • Maintain clean and organized work station at all times.

Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age and candidate must be able to: 

  • Maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time while performing with quality and accuracy.
  • Withstand exposure to possible food allergens including but not limited to; meats, fish, nuts, dairy, and oils. 
  • Withstand exposure to and work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Lift up to 40lbs constantly.
  • Lift from floor to shoulder constantly and overhead infrequently.
  • Twist, reach, & bend frequently.
  • Listen to and comprehend instructions from Leads, Managers, and coworkers over background restaurant and equipment noise constantly.
  • Frequently wash hands.
  • Adhere to schedule and be on time for shifts.
  • Adhere to company uniform and appearance policy.

Skills/Qualifications of Ideal Candidate:

  • High School degree or equivalent preferred and/or 1 year experience in related industry.
  • Good communication skills, friendly and polite demeanor.
  • Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Team player.
