Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • The Smoker position is responsible for preparing & smoking meat consistently, ensuring excellent quality according to Company specifications in a fast paced-quick service restaurant environment.
  • Practice safe food handling and cleanliness at all times.
  • Practice proper knife handling procedures and demonstrate a high level accuracy with cutting to standards while maintaining pace and intensity.
  • Follow proper company recipes & preparation standards to prepare meat for the smoker.
  • Communication with management about daily prep and inventory
  • Clean smokers on a daily basis and perform routine deep cleaning and maintenance which may involve climbing inside smoker equipment to detail parts.
  • Operate well in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time while performing with quality and accuracy.
  • Withstand exposure to possible food allergens including but not limited to; meats, fish, nuts, dairy, and oils
  • Withstand exposure to and work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Lift up to 90lbs constantly.
  • Lift from floor to shoulder constantly and overhead infrequently.
  • Twist, reach, & bend frequently.
  • Adhere to early morning schedule and be on time for shifts.

Skills/Qualifications of Ideal Candidate:

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • High School degree or equivalent preferred and/or 1 year experience in related industry.
  • Good communication skills, friendly and polite demeanor.
  • Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; team player.
