Education Level: AS Degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred, or equivalent number of years in maintenance experience.
Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
The maintenance director is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility equipment and buildings according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
· Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain machines, facility equipment, and all plant facilities.
· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs.
· Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
· Perform mechanic skills including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
· Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
· Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
· Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
· Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry functions.
· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
· Detect faulty operations, defective material and make repairs or corrections as needed.
· Comply with Federal, State, and local regulations and survey/inspection processes.
· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
· Oversee construction projects and work with contractors for on-time completion.
· Participate in on-call rotations and respond in a timely manner to make emergency repairs.
· Perform all other related duties as assigned or needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience. Strong abilities in communication. Communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, administration and co-workers. Prioritize work appropriately. Organizational skills. Highly motivated and able to work independently. While performing the duties of this job, employee is required to stand for extended amounts of time. This job requires extensive bending, reaching, twisting, lifting, and walking. Employee must be able to regularly move or lift objects up to 75 pounds and heavier objects occasionally. This position requires the ability to go up and down a ladder and work on roof tops. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
