What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and versatile individual to join our staff in Lousiana. This position will focus on supporting the Engineering and Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) divisions from in-field projects to the office. This position will also be working with the production team in manufacturing and assembly of equipment.

What You’ll Do: 

• Apply various NDE methods and techniques to evaluate structural components
• Extensive fieldwork and critical thinking in the use of the different nondestructive evaluation (NDE) technologies BDI deploys
• Record detailed notes and photographs to corroborate the results of the investigation
• Manage daily logistics including travel, equipment shipping and maintenance, and meeting project schedules
• Submit field notes, collected data, time-sheets, and expense reports in a timely manner
• Provide oversight and accountability for the quality of work being completed during an investigation
• Uphold safety guidelines and standards of BDI while completing fieldwork

What You Need to Be Successful:

• Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, contractors, and clients both verbally and written
• Ability to apply learned skills and technologies after training sessions
• Experience with concrete non-destructive evaluation, material sampling techniques (concrete coring, powder sampling, etc..) is a plus
• Experienced with hand tools, power tools, and their proper application
• Use common access methods (climbing ladders/scaffolding, man-lifts, etc.) safely during structural investigations
• OSHA training and CAD experience is a plus
• Demonstrated history of safe working practices
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings
• Efficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Work in a variety of outdoor conditions
• Willingness to travel up to 75%

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in civil inspection, nondestructive evaluation, or other relevant fields. Entry level applicants will also be considered.
• Proficient with basic mathematics calculations and computer skills
• Capable of lifting 50-80 pounds regularly and stand for long periods of time
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Starting Salary Range: $24 - $28 per hour, dependent on experience
