Firewall Project Manager to support our client with a firewall upgrade project.

hybrid, 3 days a week on site, 2 days remote, the resources will be expected to work regular evenings and weekend day time hours as well to accommodate the upgrade schedule
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Management Oversight professional to lead and coordinate firewall upgrade projects within our clients organization. In this role, you will provide strategic direction, oversee project execution, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Your expertise in project management combined with a deep understanding of network security and firewall technologies will be instrumental in driving the success of the project. Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Strategy:
• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for network security and firewall initiatives.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Create and implement strategies to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Team Leadership and Coordination:
• Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including network security engineers, firewall administrators, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and direction to team members, ensuring clear communication of project goals and expectations.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment conducive to high performance and innovation.
3. Risk Management and Mitigation:
• Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities associated with network security and firewall projects.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential challenges.
• Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize impact on project timelines and objectives.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and key deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external vendors, and business partners to ensure alignment and coordination of project activities.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Ensure that network security and firewall projects adhere to industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and audits to verify compliance with project requirements and specifications.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes and outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field; PMP certification preferred .
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on network security and firewall technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure, security principles, and firewall architectures .
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.
