About the Role

Under limited managerial direction; write, coordinate, and support development of, Federal proposals. Develop, write, and edit a variety of materials for proposals concerned with managing and providing technical offerings to the Federal Government. Potential assignments include management sections, executive summaries, technical responses, corporate experience, and resumes. Writing assignments will range from producing discrete subsections to writing and managing individual volumes within a proposal response.

Responsibilities

  • Writing responses to Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information, - creating compliant, compelling responses for assigned proposal sections/ topics and creating associated graphics, charts, tables, appendices, and other information in support of proposal development.
  • Develop and use in-depth interview techniques for gathering substantive input from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and conduct interviews with SMEs in sufficient detail to develop compelling offerings relevant to RFP requirements.
  • Conduct research on the appropriate subject matter for the proposal, including interviewing subject matter experts, researching on-line company and customer information, and other substantive source material to write and produce proposal sections.
  • Serving as co-capture on individual proposal development efforts to lead the writing team and work with capture and business development teams to ensure compliant, on-time submission.
  • Reviewing and editing proposal responses for consistency, compliance, win theme incorporation, solution accuracy, and other elements during regular and core team review cycles to create the final proposal submission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and four to six years of related experience- 3-5 years of proposal writing experience in the federal government environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of proposal development process and management techniques.
  • Complete understanding of RFP structure and the ability to review and assess RFP requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat; experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Strong leadership, organizational planning, and time management skills; the ability to multitask and work against strict deadlines is critical.
  • Strict attention to details, ability to review and edit proposal content for compliance, clarity and proper use of terminology.
  • Availability and willingness to work long hours on short notice during high volume proposal development periods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
