BCBSM Career Section is Hiring a Manager - Integration Management Office Near Detroit, MI

This position will report to the Integration Management Office (IMO) Director at BCBSM. The position will support day-to- day operations and activities led by the M&A Integration Management Office, which is responsible for coordinating and managing the integration of system mergers & acquisitions.

  • As part of the IMO, guide integration processes in partnership with divisional and functional leadership to translate the M&A objectives into project goals, plans and actions.
  • Coordinate and manage integration workstreams to ensure deliverables are met for effective integration with unified delivery standards.
  • Manage integration projects from Due Diligence through integration.
  • Be responsible for supporting large integration projects, brokering decisions with appropriate stakeholders, and identifying cross functional dependencies, issues, and escalating risks.

Departmental Summary:

  • Support development and implementation of integration activities to capture and fully realize key value drivers identified in acquisitions.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Strategy and Finance teams and participate in target diligence to evaluate key issues, assess integration requirements and challenges and develop post-close integration plans.
  • Support day-to-day execution of the integration process, including coaching cross-functional teams, leading weekly integration team meetings and driving proactive issue resolution.
  • Guide the pace of integration, ensure effective management of stakeholder communications, and track and report against objectives and success measures during integration execution.
  • Present summary integration plans and report progress and key metrics to senior executives.
  • Identify and implement best practices in M&A integration, developing or modifying existing tools and playbooks to design a consistent and repeatable integration model for all acquisitions.
  • Build dashboards and / or reporting tools to track integration status and value capture, and analyze results.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • General knowledge and experience of the deal lifecycle, from Due Diligence through post – close implementation, displaying knowledge and experience of complete M&A processes.\
  • Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills to articulate complex concepts and drive discussions to productive resolution.
  • Strong in project management with demonstrated success in managing project teams, leveraging resources and motivating others.
  • General understanding of enterprise business practices including HR, Finance, Legal, Regulatory.
  • Analytics skills to achieve/track synergies (revenue and costs) from prior transactions.
  • Have proficiency in change management and communication planning and execution.
  • Proven ability to interact regularly with executive level management to resolve issues, determine solutions and present recommendations.

Responsible for planning, organizing and managing an assigned business unit. Operate within broad objectives to ensure optimum utilization of resources; adapt business unit plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Evaluate policies, procedures and business unit goals to make decisions and solve problems.

  • Manage activities of a department including, but not limited to planning, problem solving, staff development and communication.
  • Manage the evaluation of new and existing business processes to identify areas of opportunity and execute on business unit objectives, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop the work of assigned employees.
  • Responsible for special projects, programs and initiatives to ensure successful delivery of business outcomes.
  • Provide effective and efficient solutions to complex business problems.
  • Ensure that day to day business unit operations align with organizational objectives.

"Qualifications"

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required. Master's Degree in a related field is preferred. 
  • Five (5) years of experience in a related field is required.
  • Previous experience leading projects and/or teams is required.
  • Ability to effectively lead, coach and develop team members.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of corporate organizational structures, including functional responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with moving variables in situations with limited standardization and alignment.
  • Ability to interface and present to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
