We are looking for a bookkeeper/accounting clerk with a degree in accounting who is a self-starter and has excellent communication and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping records of daily transactions, recording all entries, and generally ensuring that our accounting department is running smoothly and accurately. The ideal candidate will also enjoy working autonomously, be comfortable working with multi-tasking and have a high attention to detail. - Match transactions to the correct accounts.
- Create new account entries, such as debits and credits.
- Review payroll records for accuracy.
- Account for all financial transactions, including bank reconciliations.
- Enter all transactions into the financial management software.
- Review and investigate any discrepancies.
- Know how to use financial management software.
- Implement controls and procedures to ensure proper bookkeeping procedures are followed.
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Report writing and strategic planning skills.
- Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects.
- Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, accounting, statistics or another related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years of experience estimating costs in a relevant industry.
- Experience with financial software such as QuickBooks or similar.
- Experience in construction software a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office and other computer proficiencies.
