Bristol Bay Native Corporation is currently seeking a Corporate Tax Director. This position will be responsible for tax compliance, analysis and planning, including the preparation and reporting of the federal and state income tax provision for the audited financial statements and related disclosures, all federal and state income tax compliance filings and quarterly estimated tax payments, analysis of corporate activities and initiatives to determine areas of potential tax savings, analysis of the tax impacts resulting from various business strategies, acquisition tax due diligence, coordinating the resolution of IRS and state tax examinations and timely responding to various state tax notices. The Corporate Tax Director ensures compliance with the applicable laws of Federal, state and local taxing authorities and may be responsible for other corporate financial processes as assigned by the SVP, Tax. Responsibilities: Preparation of annual income tax provision in accordance with the requirements under ASC 740, including FIN48 analysis, for annual financial statement audit. Ensure accuracy of all tax-related accounts for current and deferred income tax reporting.Review and timely filing of all Federal and state income tax returns as prepared by outside tax services provider.Coordinate the delivery of all income tax return information necessary for outside tax services provider to timely and accurately prepare all Federal and state corporate, partnership, trust and Foundation tax returns and quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions.Provide timely response to all IRS and state taxing authority notices and examinations. Participate in developing protests and appeals to income tax audit assessments.Perform tax due diligence analysis and assessment for Corporate Development activities and potential target acquisitions.Provide foreign country tax assessment for business unit leaders and potential contracts for work to be formed in foreign countries as well as US Possessions. Coordinate with outside service providers as necessary to ensure that for all work performed abroad the Company is in compliance with foreign country tax laws.Assist subsidiary personnel with tax issues related to gross receipts, sales/use, VAT, property, payroll, excise, and other Federal, state and local taxes.Analyze proposed tax legislation to identify potential impacts to and opportunities for the Company.Review proper support for tax depreciation calculations, including reconciliations between book and tax depreciation, and book and tax gains and losses on the sale of fixed assets.Monitor the Secretary of State registrations for all business units to ensure compliance with all tax filing requirements.Maintain tax records on the corporate tax network directory necessary to support tax returns and financial statement accounting entries as required for tax auditors and independent accounting audit firm.Perform research and analysis of tax authorities for available tax savings opportunities; recommend appropriate actions; assist with implementations.Provide support to business units with proper recording of tax-related transactions.Evaluate existing processes and practices, suggest process improvements and assist with implementation.Prepare, maintain and analyze earnings and profits calculations.Prepare and maintain basis calculations for partnerships and joint ventures.Perform complex financial analysis of investments and business opportunities.Assist CFO and senior management with preparation of annual strategic plan, operating and capital budgets.Assist in various special projects and other duties as assigned. Essential Skills:Working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations and tax research skills required.Ability to efficiently handle multiple assignments/projects simultaneously, often under strict time deadlines. Ability to work with personnel from numerous departments and subsidiary companies at varying seniority levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and presentation skills.In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations.Strong leadership and team management abilities.Proficiency in tax software and familiarity with accounting principles.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.CPA or Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax roles, with a significant portion in a leadership capacity.Experience in corporate tax planning and compliance. BBNC grants employment preference first to BBNC shareholders, their spouses or descendants, and second to Alaska Native Corporation shareholders in accordance with P.L. 93-638.
