JOB DESCRIPTION FOR CONVENIENCE STORE ASSISTANT MANAGER

Reports To: Manager of Store Operations

Job Summary: As an assistant manager, you will work closely with the store manager to assist in daily operations. This includes supervising staff, managing inventory, and providing a pleasant shopping experience for our customers. You will also help implement promotional strategies and maintain store standards.

List of Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Capable of conducting all the duties of a cashier, Food Service Rep and Stock Clerk
• Advocate of our Chillbox Customer Service Agreement
• Assist in the general training, supervision, and scheduling of all team members
• Review staff performance and offer constructive feedback on operational improvements
• Assist in ordering inventory and check-in vendors upon arrival
• Observe competitor retail outlets (i.e. gas prices) within the market area; report any significant changes to Store Manager
• Merchandise store to maximize purchasing appeal
• Reviews inventory reconciliations, reports, cashier statistics, cash control numbers, and payroll ratios and investigate cashier shift reports and audits, including inventory and cash audits.
• Ensure storefront is clean, organized, and welcoming to all patrons
• Must adhere to all city, county, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery product
• Supervise the day-to-day task assignments and performance for all associates. Assist with all matters relating to Customer Service Agreement and the store team.
• Delegate tasks and follow-up as necessary.
• Provide support, assignments, direction, motivation, and coaching for associates.
• Support General Manager in other tasks and assignments on an ongoing basis.
• Exceeding operational goals as related to sales, profitability and expenses through implementation of established programs and processes
• People Management - Sourcing, Recruiting, Selecting and developing diverse talent for the territory.
• Managing operational budgets, key performance ratios and lowering costs.
• Developing and implementing short- and long-term goals for Retail Sites and their Store Managers.
• Assist managers to complete various tasks as needed, including incident reports, back office paperwork and forms, new hire paperwork, performance reviews, etc.
• Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift any day of the week
• Must be able to work assigned shift without other team members present
