Baywater is looking for an Inspector to join our team! As an Inspector we are looking for someone who can proactively identify signs of corrosion or improper operating conditions and help extend the life of the tank.

Key Responsibilities:

• Qualified candidates need to arrive on time daily, perform inspection tasks on production equipment, follow assignments, perform job effectively and efficiently, perform all aspects of the job safely, exhibit teamwork, learn the job requirements based on company expectations, and follow company policies and procedures.
• The majority of job tasks consists of visual inspection and ultrasonic corrosion scanning of tanks, pressure vessels and piping
• Complete detailed inspection reports in a timely manner
• During the initial training period up to 1 year, all work will be in San Juan, but periodic travel to other assets may be requested in the future (Hilcorp currently operates in CO, NM, TX, WY, LA, AL, PA, OH, AK).
• Inspector trainee will learn: API visual inspection requirements, ultrasonic corrosion scanning, maximum allowable working pressure and minimum thickness calculations on pressure vessels, short term and long term corrosion rate calculations, usage of phased array and flaw detector ultrasonic machines, usage of various inspection tools and techniques, oil and gas production equipment knowledge

• Able to repeatedly climb ladders, squat, lie down, reach, twist, etc.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to crawl into equipment manway openings
• Able to work in confined spaces

• Able to work in inclement weather (cold, heat, snow, rain, wind)
• Able to drive safely in inclement weather
• Good manual dexterity
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to focus attention on single tasks for long periods
• Ability to perform basic algebraic calculations
• Good verbal and written communication
• Proficient in English
• Good attendance record
• Able to work overtime as needed
• Able to understand ultrasonic theory, study ultrasonic coursework, and pass ultrasonic examinations
