Bayer is Hiring a Payroll Processor Near St. Louis, MO

DEPARTMENT/TEAM DESCRIPTION: Team handles the payroll processing activities for the US, Puerto Rico and Canada.

POSITION SUMMARY- This position is responsible for US, Puerto Rico and Canada payroll activities including adherence with Bayer policies, as well as all US Federal, State and Local regulatory compliance requirements as it relates to garnishment withholdings, payroll, and employee income recordings.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all steps in the regular and off-cycle payroll runs by processing the payment cycles, administering, and troubleshooting calculation errors, communicating disbursements, reconciling between payroll and 3rd parties, and ensuring adherence to defined payroll policies and applicable laws.
  • Provide support on all tickets/inquiries from employees, managers, Legal, business partners and external inquiries/audits ensuring questions are addressed in adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLA) response times and challenging situations are handled with diplomacy and tack.
  • Support third party disbursements including the funding process with Treasury and external banking processes.
  • Support customer inquiries via ticketing system.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES

  • Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience within Payroll Processing.

Skill & Competency Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of employment law and regulatory guidelines related to pay practices and garnishment activities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of gross to net calculations for employee pay and garnishment applications.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with diplomacy and tack.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with highly sensitive information & adhere to data privacy & internal compliance requirements.

Preferences:

  • SAP Payroll Experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
