Associate Electrical Engineer
ASSOCIATE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

PURPOSE:

Exciting and challenging electrical engineering opportunity where each day is different. Tasks would include evaluating electrical capacity, emergency power readiness, equipment maintenance, alternative sustainable energy solutions, and component electrical ratings analysis. Interact with cross-functions including Quality, Production, Procurement, Investment Management, Research and Development at the at the local, regional, and global levels as well as external vendors, and CA state supplier.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the maintenance activities related to inspection, repairs, and larger/complex turn-arounds of electrical assets including site generators UPS systems and electrical panels;
  • Initiate, monitor, and track work orders;
  • Identify and evaluate deficiencies and bottlenecks and develop technical concepts for their resolution;
  • Conduct troubleshooting of asset and process problems;
  • Observe technical rules and regulations and implement technical good practices;
  • Keep and update the technical documentation and records;
  • Coordinate the internal and external service providers;
  • Demonstrate success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought;
  • Work on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors;
  • Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions;
  • Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
WHO YOU ARE

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline;
  • B.S. 2 years or M.S. 0-1 years experience with electrical systems focused in power related concepts/fundamentals (not PCS), project management experience in industry or academia.
  • Experience with FAT, SAT, Commissioning and Qualification, including hands on experience starting-up and running new equipment, resolving technical equipment issues, developing turn-over packages;
  • Understanding of industry guidelines, regulatory requirements, and relevant SOPs;
  • Proficient computer skills to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint, SAP experience helpful;
  • High level of urgency and is able quickly adapt to changing priorities;
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex equipment / systems and supporting utility services;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a diverse wide customer base;
  • Flexibility to support business requirement of rotational on-call support and / or weekend;
  • Experience with maintenance and reliability of electrical equipment;
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Project experience management;
  • E lectrical regulations knowledge, medium voltage knowledge and experience, electrical equipment analysis (e.g., Arc Flash).
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $64,800.00 to $119,600.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
