The Associate Analytical Chemist determines chemical composition present in a sample (quantification) using wet chemistry, elemental analysis, HPLC, GC and Mass spectrometry supporting crop science.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an enthusiastic person with a strong interest in research in the agricultural and/or Analytical chemistry field.

A successful candidate will be self-motivated, quickly adapt to changing situations and possess a willingness to learn.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support department with analytical techniques.

Prepare samples for analytical analysis from chemical and biological matrices.

Analyze data to share with collaborators.

Assist developing new assays, improving existing methods and writing reports.

Respond to collaborators inquiries and troubleshooting requests.

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:

BS/MS with experience in biochemistry/analytical chemistry/biology or related field.

Hands-on experience with GC or HPLC for the quantitation of biomarkers from complex matrices.

Experience in sample preparation for biological samples.

Knowledge of various sample cleanup techniques to enrich actives in biologic samples.

Experience with robotic sample preparation valued but not required.

Detail-oriented and organized. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Self-motivated. Flexible, able to respond quickly to shifting priorities and able to multitask.
