The ICU Registered Charge Nurse works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards. Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team. The ICU Registered Charge Nurse is also responsible for professional accountability and development and acts as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team. Is responsible for developing self and team members and sharing organizational information. The ICU Registered Charge Nurse performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse.

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• ACLS and PALS may be required by department
• RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice on the approved Clinical Registered Nurse Certifications Grid
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing OR BS Healthcare related field or an RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion.
• 18-months critical care experience in an acute care setting
• Preferred certification - CCRN
