Bay State Community Services Inc is Hiring a MOAR Executive Director Near Boston, MA

Description

MA Organization for Addiction Recovery (MOAR) is the statewide voice of recovery and ensures that recovery services are valued and available to everyone throughout the Commonwealth. 

We are looking for a dedicated, hardworking, and compassionate individual who is committed to the recovery movement and is willing to share his/her/their lived experiences to help communities and elected officials recognize the needs of the recovery community. Critical to this position is a deep understanding and commitment to the underserved and marginalized recovery communities. This leadership position requires that candidate to have experience with legislation, advocacy, grants, and budgets.

What You Will Be Doing to Lead MOAR...

  • Meets quarterly with Advisory Board providing information and updates on important project activities, solicits feedback or suggestions from board members regarding effectiveness of activities relative to the accomplishment of annual strategic work plan and the overall mission of MOAR.
  • Oversees MOAR Regional Coordination of membership meetings in various communities across the state providing members, and participants, an opportunity to receive information and give feedback on variety of issues regarding addiction recovery, treatment services, public policy updates, and other relative information impacting the recovery community.
  • Develops and oversees recovery community public awareness campaign.
  • Coordinates with staff, members, and volunteers a variety of events across the state that highlight the value of recovery from addiction.
  • Maintains and develops collaborative working relationships with a variety of community coalitions, family support groups, and other private, public agencies that enhance the MOAR mission of educating the public about the value of recovery from alcohol and other addiction.
  • Provides ongoing assistance and support to peer educational services or recovery community support services. Assists with staff workforce development.

Requirements

Credentials/Qualifications

  • No formal education is required- Non-Profit and Business training is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership Experience (non-profit or business)
  • Willingness to openly share her/his/their lived experience with recovery. 
  • Experience with advocacy and the development of public policies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work in the Recovery Field
  • Experience with grant writing.
  • Experience with budgeting and billing.
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Trained as a Recovery Coach Supervisor
  • Valid Driver license
  • Acceptable CORI and SORI background checks
