Assistant Property Manager and Maintenance Department Assistant

We are looking for someone who pays attention to detail and takes pride in maintaining safe and pleasant surroundings for others to enjoy.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Posting notices of entry and other communications to residents as needed
• Testing and installing smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors
• Verifying re-certification dates for fire extinguishers, sprinklers, and alarm systems
• Ensuring gates are properly closed and locked
• Testing keys and making copies
• Meeting vendors to grant access to properties
• Reporting any safety concerns that need immediate attention
• Tracking and maintaining inventory
• Documenting and following up on work orders
• Reviewing and approving invoices
• Communicating with tenants and vendors in a professional manner
• Working with Maintenance Manager

Requirements:

• Clean driving record - will be driving company car
• Ability to take direction, stay on task and work down a punch list without deviation unless directed to by the maintenance manager/supervisor
• Ability to adjust to changing priorities and respond appropriately
• Comfortable performing job duties on properties situated in a variety of neighborhoods, for example East Oakland, Lake Merritt, Fruitvale, Tenderloin, Pacific Heights, and the Mission
• Basic computer skills necessary to send and reply to e-mails, take and upload photos, and retrieve and close an electronic work orders
• Strong desire to make a pleasant and safe living environment for others

Location, Hours, & Compensation:

You will report to the main Oakland office near Old Oakland and Chinatown but up to half of your time is spent off-site at our Oakland, East Bay and San Francisco properties. Transportation to various properties to be provided via company car. The hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Starting pay DOE. Medical, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
