Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in beautiful Saint Petersburg, FL is actively recruiting and has an opening for a staff RN in the medical & surgical intensive care unit. The MICU/SICU Staff RN provides direct hands on care for patients admitted to the inpatient unit. The nurse will provide ADLs, family support and education, spiritual and psychological support, pain management and medication administration. The preferred, well qualified candidate should have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, at least 2 years of experience in the inpatient critical care setting, have outstanding references, outstanding time and attendance, and be competent in providing appropriate support to families, and work well with an interdisciplinary team. _ Highly qualified candidates may be eligible for a recruitment incentive._

The ICU RN activities must reflect the highest standards that are consistent with the mission, values, priorities, goals and resources of BPVAHCS. This position will require standing and walking for extended periods of time as well as hearing and vision corrected to the near normal range. RN will perform other duties under the direction of the nurse manager or designee as assigned. This position is not open to novice nurses. The preferred candidate will hold a national certification in critical care (CCRN).

Qualification:

The Staff Nurse is a citizen of the United States and is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse with an active, current, full and unrestricted license. The incumbent is a graduate of a state approved nursing school and accredited by either the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). He/she has an Associate Degree or Diploma and approximately two to three years of successful critical care nursing practice or has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with two years of successful critical care nursing practice. He/she has the physical and mental capability to satisfactorily perform assigned duties. Maintaining a current BLS and ACLS certification is required.

Pay: $71,264.00 - $136,152.00 per year
