Your Role at Baxter :
This position uses machine shop equipment to fabricate parts for new and existing equipment in the plant. Perform preventive maintenance and repair of molds for injection molding, preform molding LSR molding and blow mold bottle molding.
Provides technical support of equipment and molds to maintenance and process personnel, through training and driving continuous improvement.
Working with various cross-functional teams to maximize equipment and mold efficiencies and provide ideas for continuous improvement opportunities.
Must fully support operations on the production floor and communicate effectively with production team members.

What you'll be doing
Responsible for machining parts from blueprints and drawings using shop equipment including lathe milling machines, grinders, drill press, and other equipment.
Evaluate molds and equipment to ensure Safety of personnel and equipment, Quality of products and workmanship, and reaching efficiency goals while reducing waste.
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of molds. Review molds and molded parts to determine required repair on molds.
Use all available performance data and statistical analysis of OEE, Cavitation, Cycle Time, and Downtime reports to drive improvements in the molding departments.
Read and understand electrical and Hydraulic prints.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical devices and equipment.
Support maintenance and service techs.
Design replacement parts for production machinery.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
Install new equipment and relocate equipment when necessary.
Perform modification of existing equipment.
Analyze problems and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Perform welding and sheet metal fabrication using arc and gas welder, metal saws, grinders, power shears, sheet metal break, precision measurement equipment and other shop tools.
Must have knowledge of both plant and department environmental health and safety regulations and comply with said regulations accordingly.
Perform all other duties and responsibilities as determined by supervision / management.
Complete work orders for equipment-related problems.
What you'll bring
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience working with and maintaining plastic injection molds is preferred.
Having 3 years related experience preferred.
Ability to use hand tools, layout equipment, all precision measuring tools, volt meters, drill press, surface grinder, metal lathe, milling machines, heat treat furnaces, welding and fabrication equipment and test equipment.
Computer proficiency in Maximo, Cad, Solid Works, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
RJG decoupled molding or scientific molding - certification is preferred.
Meet visual acuity requirements as documented in Baxter Cleveland Visual Acuity procedure CL-01-01-037.
Understanding of the machines, robots and automation is a plus.
Deep understanding of Arburg, Sumitomo, Engel, Krauss-Maffei, Husky and Sidel machines and auxiliary equipment Wittmann, Strelco, Motan, robots and more is a plus.
Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to reach above shoulder.
Ability to bend / stoop
We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices.
To that end, this position has a salary range of $56,000 to $77,000. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position.
The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills / experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic / office location.
