Batteries Plus is Hiring an Equipment operator 2nd Near Glendale, WI

Equipment Operators are responsible for setting-up, operating, and maintaining operating equipment at the Distribution Center for Batteries Plus .

The Equipment Operators ensures that the equipment runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained.

The Equipment Operator role will be an onsite position at the Batteries Plus Distribution Center in Glendale, WI. Does this sound like the next opportunity in your career? Please apply today!

Openings on the following shifts :

  • 2nd Shift - Sunday-Thursday 2p-10p
  • 3rd Shift - Sunday - Thursday 10p - 6a

Responsibilities : Essential

Essential

  • Drives sit-down and stand-up forklifts, and other industrial vehicles such as cherry-pickers and automated pallet jacks as needed.
  • Moves hazardous materials and m aintains a clean work area.
  • Pallet building and pallet picks.
  • Stack crates, pallets or other material.
  • Ensures the safe and efficient movement of goods.
  • Follows safety regulations and company guidelines.
  • Checks that loads are centered and properly stacked.
  • Determines when repairs need to be made on equipment.
  • Rotates stock so that oldest items are shipped or sold first.
  • Quality assurance (QA) duties, including reporting product damage and shortages.
  • Utilizes radio frequency (RF) scanning equipment to track inventory.
  • Shrink wraps goods or otherwise secures them and prepares them for transport.
  • Weighs and records weights of products.

Operational Functions

  • Driver continual improvement in both specific tasks and the overall warehouse operations.
  • Ensure all work areas are orderly, clean and free of safety hazards
  • Reinforce policies and safety rules as necessary

Qualifications :

  • 6 months of machinery / equipment experience. Thorough knowledge and understanding of moving products, loaded pallets and equipment safely and securely.
  • An employment record of punctuality and excellent attendance
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, training audits and procedure manuals
  • Proficiency in basic math

Preferred Qualifications :

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Can drive understanding (i.e. using visual aids, able to recognize when a group or individual is lost and needs more attention)
  • Demonstrates self-directed and self-motivated, with good collaborative skills and a desire to help others improve and progress
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technology (WMS technology)
